Hydrated lime, also known as calcium hydroxide or slaked lime, is a white powdery compound with various uses.
When mixed with water, it forms a milky solution that can be used as a pH adjuster or cleaning agent.This is also used in the production of mortar and concrete and as an absorbent for air pollution control. It can also be used in agriculture to raise soil pH levels and as a treatment for drywall. Hydrated lime is an off-white colour.
This has several environmental applications, such as neutralising acidic soil in your garden and treating wastewater.
